Assignment 5 for Mass Communication
The internet has managed to accomplish what all previous
forms of media have only dreamed of, conveniently packaging news, books,
television, radio, movies, and music into one endless and easily accessible
gateway. It has created an age of content distribution unlike any before, never
has the sharing of ideas been so easy. The internet may possibly be the death
of the recording and radio industries, but it allows for a much greater array of artists to become exposed to a wider variety of users, thus economically spreading wealth
across the music industry. Because of the internet the subjugation of news has
been radically overturned and will continue to diminish in the future. Other
media forms such as television and film are likely to make a transition towards
online distribution but with stricter regulations. Overall, all media forms are
or will eventually be assimilated into the glob we call the internet, but the
ramifications can only be discovered with time.
